Summer of Color - Red

The Summer of Color red challenge was a hard one to keep monochromatic, but I think I managed it without turning the red into being too pink.  I felt that my soppy dragon needed some help to look fearsome, hence the red for danger.  Not sure where this character came from but I do like him and think I may develop him further (not necessarily in red though).

Again size 5x4 inches with one pot of red acrylic paint and black pen.  Also below a red watercolour flower.

Thank you Kristin for these challenges, am so emjoying them. Four more colours to go, I can think of orange, purple, possibly magenta or black and white. Why not drop by her blog over the next few  days and weeks to what the colours are and also to see other artists lovely interpretations.

  4. I love the dragon. Don't think the red helps him to look dangerous though. :) He's gentle as ever.

  15. I can tell you exactly where he came from - a land called Honah Lee. I don't know the exact address but it was definitely by the sea!

  17. Oh!!! That is the cutest dragon ever! And the snail and those wings - you did it! Monochromatic with red - quite a feat ;) I am terribly impressed. And your flower is so striking - I really enjoy seeing what you do each week, thank you!
And can you believe that we are actually almost done with color? There is red, purple and then one more color before that last week - which is actually more like a show and tell in which we will wrap up the event as a whole. It has gone so fast . . . thanks again for everything, xo
