Creative Tuesdays - Lovebugs

Creative Tuesdays challenges have gone weekly and the first one is Lovebugs.

This is Toaster, who thinks that he is a bit of a ladies man! He has asked me to state that he is no relation to the Tea and Toast clan over the pond.  Toaster got his name by trying to show off.  He was making heart shapes in the sky, for his latest lady love, and got so carried away that he flew a little too high and then dive bombed to the ground.  He consequently singed one of his wings.  This does not seem to stop him though!

Just for interest and to push me a little, I have drawn Toaster's back and side, as I never normally think from this aspect.  What I hadn't realised is that Toaster has a mohican hairstyle, which doesn't show front view.  He is also quite fancy from the back. Have not quite caught is side view though.  This drawing below is not part of the Creative Tuesdays challenge.

Creative Tuesdays - Mothers

The latest challenge from Creative Tuesdays is mothers and to depict a visual picture of what that means to us.  My thoughts turned to those foster mothers, who lovingly accept and raise children who have come from troubled backgrounds. Therefore this is my visual interpretation.

For those who may wonder, I have changed my blog name from Serendipity to dots 'n' doodles which I felt was more me.  No banner picture yet, as I cannot decide what to do, but it will come, if  I don't think about it too hard. My new blog name came to me on the bus!  It was the execution of changing my blog, facebook and flickr that took time.

Dots 'n' doodles

I have made a leap (of faith and technology) and decided to call my blog dots 'n' doodles (previously Serendipity).  When I started this blog over a year ago, I did not quite know how my style would develop and think that it is now time for a change to reflect this.

Have not come up with a suitable banner though, but that will come. It has taken a little while to do all this as I had to change my flickr account and facebook names as well.  But I do feel very positive and excited by all this.

Inspirational words handmade art book

My favourite words drawn as inspirational ladies.

At the beginning of the year I promised myself that I would try and do one of my handmade art books on a different subject each month.  After my first two of whimsical birds and cats my third, a little later than planned, is of 10 ladies each drawn around one of my favourite words.

I shall have to get my skates on to finish this months in time and already have ideas of what I might draw.

Creative Tuesdays - Pastel coloured and Easter

The Creative Challenge for next Tuesday is Pastel Coloured and as it is also Easter I have combined the two.

Meet Tilly, who hates the name Matilda and is unfortunately no spring chicken. She has just been given a lovely big easter egg and is just imagining!!
