The next color of the Summer of Color party is pink. I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to leave me such wonderful comments over the past few weeks and also to my new followers. All your comments are such a joy to read and give me so much encouragement to keep expanding my art. I always try to reciprocate, but am sorry if I miss anyone.
My pink mermaid is painted with acrylics (size 5x4 inches) and the pink colordrop flowers in watercolours. A few people have asked what pens I use, these are usually the Pilot Pigment drawing pens and Sharpie's fine liner pen. I also usually use DecoArt Americana acrylics (when I can get them, not so easy now in the UK).
Go check out all the other wonderful interpretations done by so many talented people on Kristins's blog.
I love your mermaid!

ReplyDeleteSo amazing! I love the polka dot border and all your pen work! You are so talented - the first thing I thought when I saw this is HOW cool your work would be as a calendar - each month with a different color represented. Really beautiful work here, xo
ReplyDeleteI love these and all the details you have put into them.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing - when I was counting the comments last night for the random drawing, I noticed that I never answered your question about the broken egg-shell look from last week's green piece - sorry about that! Actually, it was Golden's crackle medium over pink paint. When it dried, I added charcoal and then some washes of green watered-down paint. Thanks for asking! xo
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pink creations and wonderful details!
