Happy New Year

Happy New Year to everyone!  I hope that the current storms over the UK have not caused too much disruption and anxiety to those here during this break.

My old trusty sewing machine was given the light of day yesterday after 20 years! After oiling and a little bit of TLC I decided to give the pedal a whirl.  This was the result.  Two sewn fabric hearts to which I added some lavender in the stuffing.  Are they not so pretty!

I had forgotten how I used to sew everything, my curtains and clothes etc and I need some new cushion covers, so have ordered some fabric to make them.  The fabrics out there now are so beautiful with so much choice, a little different from 20 years ago.

All this has planted a little seed in my brain of trying something different, so I will need to nuture, experiment and see what happens.

  1. Hooray for getting the sewing machine back to work! I've been watching Project Runway reruns in the background while doing art recently and it does make me want to sew things! (Not enough time in the day and no sewing machine, though.) The hearts are so cute and making them on your old machine is a great start to the new year!
