The latest challenge over at Creative Tuesdays is Bird House or Bird Cage.
My interpretation of a whimsical bird house street. All done with marker pens.
And a bird house mug rug! I wanted to have a go at dying fabric so all the orange and the blue background are dyed by me. I then cut out pieces of fabric and machined it all together with some batting inside to give it body.
I shall enjoy putting my morning cuppa on this.
Other bird houses/cages over on Dotty Hill Creative's blog.
both wonderful pieces Linda, I knew you would do a good job on this one.
ReplyDeleteThank you Christine. I did enjoy drawing the bird houses.
DeleteI love your birdhouse street and your mug rug. I envy your sketching and sewing abilities :o))
ReplyDeleteThank you Mo. What about your crocheting, those houses were fabulous!
DeleteBirdhouses! So cute! A clothesline! Adorable. I admit to being a little nervous about the cat but it looks like everyone gets along. ;D
ReplyDeleteAs usual you just brighten any day with your dots and doodles. I'd move into any one of those adorable birdhouses.
ReplyDeleteAnd mug rugs are so nice. I knitted a few when I was making dish cloths. They are so cute, and save the table, and make drinking your cuppa coffee or tea fun.
Linda,
ReplyDeleteI adore your drawing. SO bright and fun. Love the laundry hanging between the houses, making for some good shared neighbours there. This is really clever. Also enjoyed where I could see traces of the original pencil lines for the cat's tail etc. It's fun to see how it comes together. So glad you mentioned it was marker pens as I was wondering what did you use there. I know you've mentioned it before, but do you have some special kind of opaque white fabric pen for your darling white dots?
The "mug rug"--funny name, that, is wonderful too. I don't know how you have so much creativity oozing through your veins! Oh, and one other final thing--yes, I got it right. I guessed you;d do bird houses and flowers! Whoo! :) Love it. Thank you!
Neat, colorful, bright and clean! Love the washing lines.
ReplyDeleteAw - I do love a set of small whimsical houses! The cat staring at the bird longingly made me laugh - :D
