Creative Tuesdays - Birthday Something

Some may be wondering where I have been since last year, as this is my first blog post for 2013 and I have not been visiting my favourite blogs either.  I was struck down with the dreaded flu, I have never felt so bad with flu before and I am now suffering with infections in my left ear and my eyes. Things can only get better.

No matter what happened I knew that I had to do the CT challenge as this will be my 49th piece without a break. This one was stepping into the unknown for me as I decided to paint a small canvas freestyle (i.e. none of my trusty outlines to go by).

So Mr T, have a slice of virtual cupcake from me on your birthday!

Summer of Color - Watermelon Ice

The six weeks of Summer of Color have gone by so quickly, so a huge thank you to Kristin for all her time and enthusiasm in making this second season so great, and of course everyone who has joined in. It has been a great six weeks.

This last week is Watermelon Ice.  Again keeping my theme of acrylic painting on recycled cereal box card.

As well as acrylic ink and sharpie on watercolour paper.

Summer of Color - Wild n reckless sherbert

I can't believe that this is the fifth week for Summer of Color.  This week it's Wild 'n reckless sherbert.

Summer of Color - Strawberry Lemonade Punch

The fourth week of Summer of Color has arrived with strawberry lemonade punch.

Again keeping my cupcake theme on recycled cereal card..

Handmade art book of cupcakes

Rather late posting, but this was my May challenge of painting one subject ten times and making into an art book.  I am trying to do one art book for each month this year. I seem to have cupcakes on the brain at the moment as they are also appeariang in my Summer of Color challenges. All these were painted with Copic markers.

This is what it looks like all pulled together.

Summer of Color - Baseball Nuts

Now I have never heard of baseball nuts as an icecream, but this was week 3's Summer of Colour challenge.

Again I have kept to a cupcake painted on recycled cereal card.

Plus pearlescent acrylic ink on watercolour paper and then drawn over.

Summer of Color - Mint Chocolate Chip

This week's Summer of Color is Mint Chocolate Chip, my favourite!

I have kept to the theme of using recycled cereal box card and envelope paper and painting a cupcake.

Again I am doing a second one of throwing acrylic ink onto paper and drawing over it.  This does not show in the photo but I used pearlescent mint green ink and it really shines. beautifully  I would never has put these colours together and find that I love it, so thanks Kristin.

Summer of Color - Rainbow Sherbert

Well summer is definately here now that this year's Summer of Color has started. Thank you to Kristin for hosting this fabulous event again. The first week is Rainbow Sherbert.

I have decided to keep a theme of cupcakes and do them all on recycled cereal box card and envelope paper using acrylics and marker pen.

I have also done another quick one by just splashing on yellow, orange and pink acrylic ink on water colour paper and them drawing over the top.
