Creative Tuesdays - Aqua

Well how could I not resist doing this latest Creative Tuesdays challenge!  See I just can't keep away from all you lovely people. As aqua is one of my favourie colours this challenge also fitted in nicely with my play down time.

Hand painted paper cut into triangles, ink circles and lots of drawing.

As watercolours have always eluded me, I have this desire to get to grips with it but in a very loose wet on wet style to see what happens.  These are my first endeavours.

For the one below I put puddles of water on the paper and then dropped in acrylic inks.  I just love what came from this, especially as the one on the right seems to be a mish mash of both of the other two, perhaps a sibbling?

As you can see I have not been sitting here with my feet up and am excited by the freedom this style gives, as usually I work very tightly. Only downside to this is that I am rapidly devouring watercolour paper. I am so pleased that I have given myself a mini sabatical to play as I have been doing some collage work and torn paper art as well.

Enough of me. For more aqua gioodies visit Mr T's blog.

Creative Tuesdays - Starry Night

This week the challenge over at Creative Tuesdays is Starry Night.  I had a couple of ideas for this, but the one I eventually ended up with, because I could not get the song out of my mind, was Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night. This is my interpretation, in my style, of his wonderful painting.

Star gaze over on Mr T's blog for other interpretations.

Sunday Postcard Art - Memories

This week's memories, made me think of my summers as a little girl and that my treat was always a knickerblocker glory.  A huge icecream sundae which I would devour with relish and if I do get one now that I'm a grown up still do.

Painted on recycled cereal box card, envelope and wrapping paper with acrylics.

Go down other artist's memory lane at the Sunday Postcard Art blog.

Klimt style goddess

My goddess is finally finished!  I found that doing a large canvas with all the mixed media involved was quite time consuming, but was worth doing, as it challenged me.  I also ended up with a lot of sleeves daubed with paint, as I would forget whilst I was working that parts of the canvas were still wet!

and this is a close up of the face, as I had difficulty in photographing the painting, as the light was really bad.
