Summer of Color - Blue

The first week of the Summer of Colour blog party is blue.  As I love blue I thought I would do two pieces.  The first is a whimsical Blue bird of Happiness painted in acrylics.  The second is in watercolour and as I am doing Martha Lever's Color drop flower class, which I am so enjoying, I thought I would do a flower in that style.

Why not pop over to Kristin's blog and see what others have done of even better why no join in..

Creative Tuesdays - Purple

Purple is the theme for this week's challenge from Mr Toast, which had to be the colour of the main subject of the picture.  I thought I would challenge myself even further and only use purple, so with one pot of Dioxide Purple and one pot of white paint the following was produced.

Why not check out Mr Toast's blog to see how other artists have interpreted this week's theme.

Spring blossom

Spring blossom is everywhere at the moment, sadly it does not stay long, hence my drawing.  Have been set a real challenge from Mr T for next week.  Rooftops, either from a birds eye view or looking upwards.  If you see someone with a crick in their neck, that's me.

Playing around again!

As I always seem to be drawn to circles, I thought I would play with oblongs and squares and this was the result.  When I scanned it into the computer, I thought I would invert it to see what happened, the second pic was how it came out. Kinda cool I thought.

Creative Tuesdays - Breakfast

I came across Mr Toast's Creative Tuesdays bi-weekly challenges and thought I would give it a whirl with this week's challenge of breakfast.  Why not drop by to see what other artists have come up with.

My little fellow below  is enjoying a tasty morning meal, although I think secretly he eats all the time!

Dragonfly

The sun has decided to shine, and what a difference it makes, so I did this little dragonfly in anticipation of spring.  Although I realise now that I have not quite used spring colours.  Oh well!

I had forgotten how lovely Golden Fluid Acrylics were.  I don't normally use them all the time as they are expensive and therefore usually stick with my DecoArt acrylics.  One thing I had forgotten though, was that ink takes a long time to dry, hence I have smudges on my dragonfly.

Blue bird

It's been so overcast and dreary weather-wise lately that I thought this little bird may brighten the day.

Same picture, different colours

I am trying to be much more at ease with colour, so I did 3 simple whimsical pics and painted them in different colourways.  Interesting and enjoyable.  Because they are only 3 inches square, I did not feel intimidated if I didn't like them, which often happens with my colouring.
