Seasons greetings to one and all
Thank you to everyone who has commented and followed me along my little art road over the past year, all your encouragement and words have been such a boost and have been most thankfully received. I have also made some lovely blog friends along the way.
I hope you all enjoy the festivites, however you celebrate them, and send my warmest wishes for the new year.

Christmas hanging fun
Have been having fun making these christmas hangers, They are very festive with lots of sparkle and glitter together with a tinkling bell and look so pretty when hung.
The base is made from recycled cereal card, covered with paper, with a drawn image cutout and placed on top and then lots of glitter glue. All held together with jewellery findings.

Just playing around
I have decided to do a Christmas sketchbook, purely for play, to try out different media and see what happens but with no pressure.
This page was purely by chance and I do like the effect, it could even be an idea for a card for next year. I just slapped on some dark blue paint and did the thing we all did as children, cutting out folded paper and then pasted. They were supposed to be all snowflakes but the quarters looked like trees so voila. I intend to put lots of glitter on this.
Another random page.
Seem to be trees as the moment, but I have drawn other non tree pages, which just need some colour.

Sadly neglected blog
My blog has been sadly neglected over the past couple of months and I feel there must be a reason for this. I have been making art, but for some reason have not really had the inclination to publish anything on my blog, this has been the same with my facebook pages.
I feel I have lost my way a little in my creative endeavours and need to rethink as I am not progessing artistically. There are lots of ideas floating around in my mind, but perhaps I need to go back to basics and just draw and draw and see what happens.
There is another 29 faces challenge in February which I will be joining in with and I have also signed up for a workshop with SL Scheibe which starts in January, both of which I am looking forward to.
Just a few festive little characters for you.

Creative Tuesdays - Holiday Song
The Creative Tuesdays challenge for next Tueday (New Year's day) is Holiday Song.
At this time of the year I find that the Christmas carols are my favourite, so my choice of song is Hark the Herald Angels Sing, as you can sing this one with such gusto (not that I am a great singer).
As Christmas has now gone and I am looking to the New Year with new challenges and beginnings, I have removed the seasonal aspect from my interpretation.
See what holiday songs others have chosen.
Happy New Year to one and all! May all that you wish for happen with joy and peace.

Creative Tuesdays - Mittens
This week the challenge over on Creative Tuesdays is mittens. My abiding memory of mittens is where they were attached to a long piece of ribbon so that they could be strung through your coat arms to stop you losing them as a child.
Again my piece did not turn out as I had envisaged, as I had all sorts of ideas, but am learning just to go with what my pen decides it wants to do, and as you can see I am in festive mood at the moment.
Marker pens on bristol board. Pop over to Mr T's blog for lots of other lovely warming mittens.

Recycled Christmas Owl and Strathmore free workshops
Firstly, I would like to thank eveyone who has followed my blog or left comments during this year. Your comments and enthusiasm has spured me on so much, so as I am coming up to the first anniversary of my blog on 1 January, I am thinking of having a give-away to celebrate it and thank everyone. So watch this space.
Strathmore Papers are giving free workshops in 2012 and the first one is with the lovely Traci Bautista. I have signed up for them and details can be found at http://www.strathmoreartiststudio.com/ Get yourself over there and sign up.
Finally I have painted a recycled christmas owl, painted in acrylics on recycled card and envelope paper.
Am linking this to Artists in Blogland. Seasons greetings to everyone!
