Fabric applique art owl wall hanging

Definately got the fabric bug at the moment!  The reason,  I treated myself to a new sewing machine, as my 30 plus year old Frister and Rossman eventually gave up the ghost, so I bit the bullet and  bought a Janome. So smooth!

The first thing I made was this 7x7 inch picture.

I think he is just so cute, don't you.  I am trying to keep my whimiscal art style but transferring it to fabric. I should have taken a photo of the back as it has the full pattern that is around the frame.

I am so lucky to have a really fabulous sewing shop in the town that sells gorgeous fabrics as well (The Little Sewing Company).

Creative Tuesdays - Striped

Striped is the order of the day over at Creative Tuesdays for next Tuesday.  Perhaps because I am in the process of uncluttering due to putting my property up for sale and moving,  I wanted to get back to some basics and just use pen and ink. So I used my old fashioned dip pen and some burnt umber acrylic ink.

Lots of striped pieces of art are already showing over on Mr T's blog, so go and take a look.

Creative Tuesdays - Twisted

On looking up the word twisted, the dictionary said "contorted, wound spirally, mentally disturbed or unsound".

Well for this weeks Creative Tuesday's challenge, I may have covered all of the above.

I had such fun drawing this weird owl and no I am not of unsound mind!  I can't think of a suitable name for her, any ideas?

As twisted will conjure up all sorts of responses, see them all on Mr T's blog.

Snowy owl

With all the snow that arrived yesterday, this little fellow decided to don his ear muffs, scarf and boots so that he could go and play in the snow. Painted on recycled card.

If you have snow, I hope you are also wrapped up snug and warm!

Sunday Postcard Art - Bohemian

A bohemian owl, my addition for the Sunday Postcard Art challenge this week. Anything bohemian always reminds me of the flower power era.

Painted with acrylics on recycled paper and card.
